The 3500 system requires a TMR version of TDI for Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) applications. In addition to all regular TDI functions, TMR TDI also performs “monitoring channel comparison”. The monitoring voting is carried out using the arrangements provided in the monitoring options in the 3500 TMR configuration. Using this method, TMR TDI compares the outputs of three redundant monitors in real-time. If TMR determines that the information from one monitor is no longer equal to the information from the other two monitors (within the specified percentage range), it will mark that monitor as an error and record an event in the system event list.
