The 3500/25 is an enhanced Keyphasor Module developed by Bently Nevada. It is a half height, dual channel module used to transmit key signal to the monitor module in the 3500 rack. When the keyphasor markings on the shaft align with the keyphasor sensor, the module uses a magnetic sensor or proximity probe to detect alignment and convert the input signal into a digital keyphasor signal. For regular settings, the 3500 mechanical protection system can accept up to four key signals, and for paired configurations, it can accept up to eight. The event pulses per revolution or multiple times per revolution of a rotating shaft or gear (referred to as keying signals) can be used to accurately detect timing. Therefore, the 3500 monitoring module and external diagnostic tools can measure shaft speed and vector characteristics, such as 1X vibration amplitude and phase. The Enhanced 3500 System Module is referred to as the Enhanced Keyphasor Module. While maintaining full downward compatibility with the shape, fit, and functionality of existing Keyphasor modules used in legacy systems, it provides higher Keyphasor signal processing capabilities than previous designs. The revised 149369-01 module completely replaces the Keyphasor module, PWA 125792-01. Whenever a Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) application requires system keyphasor input, the 3500 system should use two keyphasor modules. In this setting, the modules run in parallel, providing primary and secondary key signals for other modules in the rack. If there are no more than four input signals for the main keyphasor, systems with more than four keyphasor inputs can be arranged in pairs

The module is suitable for situations where many devices are simultaneously connected to the Keyphasor signal and need to be isolated from other systems (such as control systems). Although primarily designed for magnetic pickup applications, isolated I/O modules are compatible with Proximitor * applications and provide isolation as long as external power is provided. The main objective of this I/O module is to measure shaft speed rather than phase. This module can provide phase measurement, although it introduces a larger phase shift compared to the non isolated I/O version. Creating one event signal per round, on-site upgradable firmware, and asset management data reports from multiple event inputs per round are examples of enhancing product functionality. Magnetic pickups or proximity probe transducers can send up to two transducer signals to each keyphase module. The input signal range of non isolated I/O modules is+0.8 V to 21.0 V, and that of isolated I/O modules is+5 V to -11 V. Signals outside this range will be subject to internal limitations of the module. Passive magnetic pickup (3.3 Hz) requires a shaft speed exceeding 200 rpm.
