The Field Device Controller (FDC) 280 provides control and Ethernet/serial interfaces between single or dual port PLCs, drivers, and other distributed control devices and EcoStruxure Foxboro DCS. The FDC 280 optimizes the integration of control equipment such as PLCs, improves flexibility, and minimizes system engineering, floor space, and costs. Features: Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) – displays letter errors and real-time roles and status, supports multiple network connections – Ethernet, RS232, RS485, RS422. Compared with CP plus FDSI solution, it reduces floor space and wiring by 50%. Online Image Upgrade (OLUG) for FCP280, no need to close the process, downloadable and upgradeable protocol driver, online. Benefits: Reduce engineering workload and installation footprint, reduce ownership costs through futuristic design, and provide greater flexibility for control system design/implementation.
Applications: hydrocarbon processing, chemical and specialty chemicals, upstream oil and gas, power generation, metals and mining, water and wastewater, pharmaceuticals and life sciences. FCP280 requires Foxboro DCS Control Core Services software v9.0 and above. The system composed of FCP280 and this software is called the ecostrucxure Foxboro DCS process automation system. The optional dual cable backplane supports four PIO channels, but provides separate A/B bus connectors and dedicated connectors for optional time strobe inputs. The fieldbus connection from the optional dual cable backplane to the standard or compact 20O series FBM requires a separate A/B bus cable and a dual “D” connection adapter on the FBM backplane (RH926KW).
PLC控制器本身的硬件采用积木式结构,各厂家产品结构大同小异。以日本欧姆龙C200HE为例,为总线模板框式结构,基本框架(CPU母板)上装有CPU模板,其它槽位装有I/O模板;如果I/O模板多时,可由CPU母板经I/O扩展电缆连接I/O扩展母板,在其上装I/O模板;另一种方法是配备远程I/O从站等。这些都说明了PLC厂家将硬件各部件均向用户开发,便于用户选用,配置成规模不等的PLC,而且这种硬件配置的开放性,为制造商、分销商(代理商)、系统集成商、最终用户带来很多方便,为营销供应链带来很大便利,这是一大成功经验。
