The 2098-DSD-020X-DN is an Allen-Bradley digital servo drive (DSD) in the Ultra 3000 product family of motion control components. The drive is primarily used to interface with servo motors, such as Allen-Bradley’s Kinetix servo motor series, for motion and position control of connected loads.2098-DSD-020X-DN accepts feedback position data from Allen-Bradley sine/cosine encoders, as well as from Bulletins 842HR, 844D, 847H, and 847T incremental external encoders.
The 2098-DSD-020X-DN product operates at 120 VAC / 240 VAC, single phase, 50-60 Hz input supply voltage and 18 amps input current. This servo drive provides 120 / 240 VAC output voltage, 3-phase, 0-400 Hz programmable frequency range, 10 amps maximum continuous output current and 30 amps maximum peak output current. It produces 115 kW continuous output power at 115 VAC input and 2.0 kW continuous output power at 230 VAC input.
The 2098-DSD-020X-DN has an integrated DeviceNet communications interface that allows the inverter to communicate directly with DeviceNet capable controllers, such as Allen-Bradley’s SLC and Logix controllers, with appropriate DeviceNet scanner capabilities. This allows the driver to perform data exchanges at high communication speeds and cover longer distances. In addition to the integrated communications interface, the 2098-DSD-020X-DN has a built-in indexing feature. With the stepping function, pre-configured servo motor motions can be stored in the servo driver’s memory, enabling the user to select predefined stepping patterns for specific loads or product types. These motions include acceleration, deceleration, acceleration, deceleration, position data and other parameters.
