The programming languages supported by the controller include relay ladder diagram, structured text, functional block diagram (FBD), and sequential functional diagram (SFC).
To communicate with the module, an RS232 communication cable is required. The appropriate communication for this module is 1756-CP3 or 1747-CP3, with a right angle connector to the controller and direct connection to the serial port, 3 meters (9.84 feet). This module uses batteries to retain user programs and data in its memory. For A-series controllers, the appropriate batteries are 1756-BA1, 1756-BATM, and 1756-BATA, while for B-series controllers, the batteries are 1756-BA2.
