The 8502-BI-DP (Bus Interface Module) BIM provides a communication link between the 8000 series I/O modules and a profibus – dp host. It collects data at high speed from the module while the LAN runs at a speed of up to 6Mbaud, allowing the host to respond quickly to the conditions during the control process. 8502 supports parameterization from a Profibus host. This is based on the configuration of ‘each module’, which means that all channels carry the same configuration on one channel. Modules are added one at a time to the configuration and parameters are selected to apply to all channels of the module.
