The 3500/45 position monitor is a 4-channel monitor that accepts signals from proximity sensors, rotating position sensors (RPT), DC linear variable differential transformers (DC LVDT), AC linear variable differential transformers (AC LVDTs), and rotary potentiometers. Note: The type of measurement to be performed and the associated sensor inputs determine the need for an input/output (I/O) module. Refer to Table 1 and Figures 1 and 2. It adjusts these inputs and compares the adjusted signal with a user programmable alarm. Note: The monitoring channels can be programmed in pairs, and up to two functions can be executed once. Channels 1 and 2 can perform one function, while channels 3 and 4 can perform another function (or the same). However, only channels and 3 and 4 can perform case expansion. The main purpose of the 3500/45 monitor is to provide: 1. continuously compare monitoring parameters to protect the machine from driving alarms based on configured alarm settings. 2. Basic machine information and personnel for operation and maintenance. According to the configuration, each channel typically adjusts its input signal to convert into various parameters called “proportional values”. The alarm set point can be configured for each active proportional value and danger set point, and can be configured for any two valid proportional values.
