There are three connection methods available between the CP451-50 I/O module and field devices: dedicated signal cable connection for the CP451-50 CPU processor module, pressure clamp terminal connection, and MIL cable connection. CP451-50 is used for dedicated signal cable connections, which are used to connect field devices through terminal boards or relay boards. The signal cable interface adapter is structurally integrated with the CP451-50 I/O module. By selecting option codes for I/O modules and signal cables separately, it is possible to prevent incorrect types of I/O modules from being inserted. As for the pressure clamp terminal connection, on-site devices can be directly connected to the I/O module. Yokogawa CP451-50 I/O module has two types of pressure clamp terminal blocks to choose from – one is a single configuration type, and the other is a dual redundant configuration type. I/O modules can achieve dual redundancy on terminal blocks. The MIL cable provided by the customer can be directly connected to the I/O module without the need for wiring terminals. To prevent MIL cables from disconnecting from the I/O module, cable connector covers (SCCC01 and SCCC02) can be used with MIL cables.
