Users use programming software or use the RUN/STOP three-position switch to control the module operation through the operating mode. Memory protection keys or software passwords can lock configuration and program data.

During actual operation and power on, the CPU verifies the rack configuration, and its alarm function reports any deviations in programming and/or actual configuration. IC697CPM790 has a lithium battery that can maintain calendar clock operation, data storage, and program storage.
It should be noted that module IC697CPM790 must be used in conjunction with a standalone C program that provides Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) operation and automatic testing routines. Unless this program is included in the loaded application, it will not run.
